Also, Engr. Maricris C. Cunanan and Engr. Felix Rey Bueta have successfully presented their research studies in the Institute of Materials Engineers of the Philippines (IMEP), Inc. 2016 Conference (themed “Engineering Materials for Sustainability”) held last October 27-28, 2016 at Microtel by Wyndham, UP Technohub, Diliman, Quezon City. Engr. Cunanan presented her thesis research on Fe-doped Amorphous and Crystalline Nanosilica from Rice Husk as Potential Anode Material for Lithium Batteries while Engr. Bueta presented his research on Preparation and Characterization of Lsm/Ysz Composite Cathode Material.
In the 18th International Conference on Composite Materials and Materials Engineering, Asst. Prof. Christian C. Vaso presented his research entitled Investigation of Lsm/Ysz Composite electrode as Anode Material for Solid Oxide Electrolysis Cell (SOEC) last May 26-27, 2016 in Narita Tobu Hotel, Tokyo, Japan.

Last November 19-22, 2016, Asst. Prof. Jasmin Z. Vasquez and Assoc. Prof. Adeliza A. Dorado attended the International Conference on Frontiers of Composite Materials (ICFCM 2016) in Amora Hotel, Auckland, New Zealand. Asst. Prof. Vasquez presented her research entitled Unidirectional Abaca Fiber Reinforced Thermoplastic Starch Composite. On the other hand, Dr. Dorado presented her research on Biodegradable Corn Starch/Silica Nanocomposite Sheets for Food Packaging Applications and also served as a Chair in Material Processing Technology Session on the said conference. As a Chair, she was tasked to introduce the presenters, facilitate the question and answer portion after each presentation and evaluate the presenters to help in the selection of best paper presentation.
